View Full Version : Small motorboat rentals? Boat parking?

Is there anyplace close to Indy where one can rent a small motorboat for fishing? My wife is big on "try before you buy" on this kind of thing. Boat rentals I've seen have generally been canoe, kayak, or skiff. Given my daughter's one and only experience, she's afraid of canoes, and I wouldn't expect her to feel any more secure about kayaks. And my experience with rowboats has been that they tend to take forever to get anywhere.

Second question: where I live, there's not room to park a boat and trailer. Are there any reasonably cost-effective choices for parking a small boat away from home?

At this point I'm more than a little tempted to think about inflatables but then my experience with inflatables has not been good--the panicky paddling for shore when it starts leaking air in the middle of the lake.

I myself seek a good answer to some of these very questions. They're are military grade inflatables for the buying, which probably border a Titanic grade hull, but what I find there is your taking inflatables for thousands-who would go there when you can go aluminum much cheaper.

You're more than welcome to park your boat and trailer here for "free"...you'll just have to leave the keys with me so i can "move it" if needs be....;)
