Just wondering if anybody has gone to the Badlands near Attica? I've been invited to do some off roading with a buddy in his jeep! Sounds like a blast and the website looked pretty cool. Never done this so should be fun!

If anybody has any inside info: trails, things to avoid, best runs, let me know.

I'll report back how it goes.

I have been there, its ok for central Indiana. But after jeeping out west for a few years(where i got hooked on jeeps), it just doesnt do it for me. There are some decent sand dunes on it, and some good mudholes. Dont know if your budy has been there before, but if you drop off the into the river bottom, he better not have open differentials, and will need a winch.......;). I took my 4wheeler there. kept the jeeps at home, i dont like getting them mudy...haha!

Ive only been there for 4wheeler's as well, like Bill. Don't let him fool you, for Indiana, it's a fun place. You'll have fun Jay. It's been awhile but I don't remeber any trails but the river. That thing was fun.

It's not a bad place for Indiana, another place is HASPIN ACRES IN LAUREL, IN a better place in my opinion........

haspin was not as much fun for me. I go to badlands 8 to 12 times a year. i take my kawasaki kfx450r. try the orange trail its a blast. the green trail is ok. they have camp sites also. cant drink like you can at haspin. they have rock climbing, mud holes, creeks, sand dunes and a moto track and a few trails. best time to go out there is in spring to trail.

Back in the early 90's I was a member of a group called the "North Central Indiana Off Road Enthusiasts". I can't for the life of me remember the name of the place but we used to go to a place off of 24, west of Logansport, I remember you turn south at Lake Cicott then went to the country. That was a FANTASTIC place to 4 wheel. We used to cam at France Park then go over there four wheeling. I think it may have just been a place that a farmer let us ride the rails in. My ol' 77 Bronco used to tear them hills UP!

Well here's my very quick synopsis of the BADLANDS. THis place rocked! They have something like 800 acres of terrain available to basically do whatever you want...including getting stuck in a mud hole the size of my kitchen! Which we did.

I was driving and doing just fine, then BOOM! We're thrown forward and to the left as we come to a screaching halt. Later I find out it's one of the most frequent stickers on the grounds.

Thankfully a couple of guys from Michigan came and helped us out of the mess...it took us close to two hours, two 8,000lb winches and a lot of praying to get us out!

plus I was up to my seat in ice cold, muddy water. I think I owe my neighbor a detail-job on his jeep.

You're right, the best trail is the ORANGE trail. We hit that one at the very end. The guy we went with tried to go up one of the climbs, but couldn't make it. We somehow made our way back and to hit it on the way down was amazing!

The sand pits were kinda fun, but the tires weren't very good for that type of off-roading.

Best part--jumped a couple of does while down in the bottom. Tracks ALL over the place over there.

The bottom is not designed for a bone stock jeep, those mud holes will swallow you..........;)
