I really doubt that the president has a call in every air strike that is carried out in the two wars we are fighting.

Before this starts to get out of hand. As a proud American, I believe that if you consider yourself to be any kind of patriot, then you will respect the office of the President of the United States, even if you did not vote for him or agree with his policy's. To put your countries President's likeness with those of evil men from the past is without a doubt anti American. I do not share the ideals of our President, I did not vote for him, however, any problem I had with him during the election will be put aside, and I will honor him with the respect he deserves, especially during this time of war. It is time for all sportsman to step up and be a patriot at this dark time in our history.

Not that it would lessen the issue, but isn't that some form of collateral damage? When the bad guys hide in amongst the commoners, it is bound to happen. When they want to wage a war where they do not hide in places that put women and children in the way of harm, then, and only then, will the civilian casualties subside.

My $0.02:

In Iraq, Gaza, and anywhere else the "war on terror" is waged, we have a Power House (there are no super powers anymore) vs. a bunch of skinnies with a violent agenda.

Israel vs Hamas, US vs al Qaeda, Great Brittian vs IRA. It is the same war with the same theme: Little guy wants to impose their will on the big guy. Big guy want's little guy to shut up and leave him alone. The little guy ALWAYS hides among his people and draws support when those people are killed when the big guy has finally had enough.

Until the people in Palastine, Iraq, Lebanon, Afganastan and 100 other similar places in the world decide that they, too, have had enough of being used as human shields and fodder for the propaganda mill, they are as responsible for the "collateral damage" as the little guy hiding in their schools and the big guy driving the tank.

Did the US kill 16 Afgan civilians? Probably. Heck, we have probably killed 100 times that many. But were they collateral damage or wrongfully targeted? In the fog of war, both happen. Hamid Karzi is a fighting man, himself. He should know that.

Karzai is a former unocal exec.. And look for the taliban to win because thats what corporate america likes. An oppresive govt that works on kick backs and will allow the trans afghanistan pipeline to proceed.
