well that sucks...our fishing down here gets better in winter on a lot of river systems....

im not stressed about fishing when im up...cause deer hunting is first but ifn a deer was dead already...id be up for any other activities.

Gator you want smallies jump up to the Eel river just a few mile north of Peru. November is going to be tough. Hell you might want to try for Walleye.

After you drop that big buck you should try some duck and goose hunting. It's pretty darn fun.

If you are going to fish the Wabash plan to fish for carp, sturgeon, and catfish. The Wabash sucks for sport fishing.

I'd choose the Eel. Your gona hafta float and cover a lot of water. Use some livebait. You just might find 'em stacked up. There are most definitely some footballs in there. When the guys say it might be tough, they mean that it is not like the spring/summer bite and locations, maybe just a little uncomfortable for the fisherman. The smallmouth don't go south for the winter. Check holes---the head, the middle and tailout. Also try eddies with some depth and current seams. On the list of artificials---1/8 oz spinnerbait, I like tandem willows, texas rigged 4 to 7 inch worms for getting inside the wood, 2 to 5 inch swimbaits, smaller size jig and pig and if the water temps are still in the mid to upper 40's, a slow moving popper bite just might surprise you. Those fish are still eatin', just not as often. It only takes one 18 inch or better smallie to make a good trip. I also deer hunt, but after only a couple hours on stand I'm thinking about how many fish I could have in the boat by now. Think of it this way---hunt fish. Another option is the Mississenewa reservoir isn't far away if someone can help you out with a boat.

depending on the weather here Sugar creek, and Raccoon creek in Parke county can produce a few smallies and walleye. The wabash Im in agreement with Tree.
