i really don't know myself but i have seen people who use those wind socks behind their boat to create drag.

I do alot of work up in Albion and Kendalville, and everytime I'm up there It seems like the wind is blowing. 4 anchors, that is the answer.

If your goin for bass. You need a good trolling motor. This time of year throw a Lipless crankbait ( rat-l-trap). the drift sock would also help to control the boat a little better.

Just got off the lake, the wind is blowing about 15 to 30 mph and the lake has white caps and we are in a 12 semi V boat. Did catch a few fish. When is there wind going to stop blowing?

Fished a Channel at George yesterday for about an hour. Stayed off the main lake because of the wind....caught three nice bass, all over 2 lbs.

fish a white spinnerbait on the windy shore reeling just under the surface or a blue/silver with orange belly rattletrap when you catch one make many cast to this area alot of times they will stack up along these areas waiting on the wind to blow in bait good luck

David, Not too tough when you tie a balloon to him and follow him around.

Of course, that makes sense...it's what we do in Canada for walleye...look for a windy shore and drift in with the bait fish...don't know why I never put it together and do the same for bass. I've just got to gain confidence with a spinnerbait...love to throw them, just don't catch many fish. Did use a chrome/blue rattletrap for awhile.

It's just trying to gain confidence on different baits.

Well 5-15-06 and it still raining but not so windy and yes I am still getting wet fishing. Quail and I hit Pike Lake Saturday and what a great day to walleye fish, a little rain, little wind and cloudy all day. We had 5 walleyes, 2 white bass and I think 4 largemouth bass and all the big mouth bass was caught by Quail, he is a fishing machine.

What were you guys using to catch the Walleye?

What were you guys using to catch the Walleye?Pike Lake is like two seperate lakes, the northside is shallow and very weedy, the southside the bottom is sloped but sandy.
We were bottombouncing live bait rigs on the south shore in 15-17 feet of water using both crawlers and minnows. The bite was slow, you had to troll right over the top of those fish very slow, water depth did seem to matter a great deal. Bottom bouncing worked very well here with the lack of weeds, and there is a lot of water you can cover this way. Really have to keep your eye on the depth gage looking at waterdepth and looking for fish...you can go from 15 feet to 4 feet deep in one boat length!

Real fishermen go fishing when they can and don't worry about trivial things such as the wind. I remeber a guy pulling out bluegill while ice fishing in 60 mph winds one time...............

Speaking of that Jimmie says you can tell that school is out. Why, because Barb is home and 410 can't go out and play anymore. He can't even finish his fish scaler. Anyone want to buy a nice mig welder, barely used? Comes with a new sawzall.

OK Scott that's enough, yes my wife is home and yes my scaler is not finished but the reason why is I am fishing and getting a fishing trip set up for our church on Father's Day weekend. I think after waiting for about 15 to 20 years Scotts for NO# 2 to get a fish scaler done. Yes I remember fishing in 60 mph wind and a heavy pain in my chess. HA! HA! Scott ask you dad about who's wife was mad that he did not tell her where we were fishing and I ask him if he wanted to call her and he said NO and he didn't go fishing for two days.

Well it's June 13th and no wind but it have been a tough bite until around 9 or 10 o'clock due to the weather being around the 55 mark. The fish started biting when the sun came out and warmed up the water a few degrees. Is anyone finding out this is true for catching gills?

First we had the wind and then we had the rain and now the heat. Hope all is doing well and how is the fishing in the heat going? We have been catching some gills in the deep water with cane poles about 6 to 10 feet deep on worms, crickets and bee moths.
