How many of you would support this?
A 7 day split gun season, that is 4 days the weekend before Thanksgiving and 3 days the weekend after. And in this gun season you are only allowed to shoot a shotgun that has a plug in it. And the state tells you after you draw for your tag, whether you can shoot a buck or a doe. A 3 day muzzleloader season that is in December. How about for all you handgun guys, a 3 day handgun season that is in January. These restrictions sound kinda tight. Well, this is what it takes to have Indiana the way we all want it.... Wait a minute,,this is not Illinios,, this is Indiana. And so many are worried about just the OBR going away... OBR is only the begining and its in jeopardy. There is more than corn in Indiana?:hide: :hide: :hide: :hide: :hide:Add that up. Thats 13 days total for all seasons. Heck, our gun season alone is longer than that. No wonder.

In all fairness, what about your proposed changes in the archery season?

I would support this season 100%. Should I post the Illinois vs. Indiana record book list again?

Sounds too restrictive to me.

Apologies if needed, I thought the post was quite precise and to the point. All the suggestions concerned firearms and none was directed toward archery as if all might be well in the world of Hoosier big game hunting. To suggest that the various firearm seasons all need to be changed to better suit the non-firearm users seems a bit slanted, without proper regard for the other choice of take, or does the thoughts of the other side seem not to be worthy of consideration?

I believe he is saying, "this is how Illinois does it, and our state pales in comparison in numbers of P&Y/B&C bucks."

Somebody please correct me if I misunderstood JB's post recently, which was in reply to my question of when the rut with the most activity takes place. It seems that it is the week or so "before" the shotgun period starts, and we "sluggers" actually are allowed our participation to begin after the "hot" rut is over. Did I read his post wrong? Chime in here Joe, and lend some clarification.

I don't think the deer should be hunted in the rut. It would be like you being shoot running after a someones daughter. You would not have no chance.
