Fishing Program Offered at National Lakeshore
Join a ranger from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore for this introduction to fishing in Dune Country. “Fishing the Dunes” will be held at 10 a.m., Sunday, April 15 at the Dorothy Buell Memorial Visitor Center.
Learn about the hot fishing spots in the area and the variety of fish found in these waters. In addition to park staff, Northwest Indiana Steelheaders Association members will be on hand to demonstrate fly tying, casting, and lure presentation. They will also share tips for successful fishing in Lake Michigan and area streams.
The Dorothy Buell Memorial Visitor Center is located in the southeast corner of the Route 49 and Route 20 intersection; enter from Route 49. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-926-7561, extension 225.
