wow that is a cool pic. never seen one so young. i think your pics convince me that they grow like any other mushroom, makes sense. they dont just pop.

This is my opinion. I think that the morel growth span is very short. Does it grow to its height in one hour, two hours, or maybe even three. I dont know. But my opinion is that it grows in a very short period of time, not over a duration of days or even a week. Hence, I will say they are poppin'. I dont think a 7 inch mushroom pops up in a tenth of a second. But I also dont think a 2 inch mushroom grows to be 6 inches if you let it sit for a few days.

THEY GROW !!!!and not within a one - or four day period ... it has alot to do with the weather as far as how much they grow ... and sumwhat the rate of growth .... but trust me they grow .... i have been doin research for years now .... and have watched the growth rate extend over a 4 week period .... but oh well ... no matter what i say im sure most of ya will not believe me ... lol .... good luck to yall this season !!!

I agree...like almost any living organism in nature, they grow. I don't see how/why they wouldn't. It's true, there are still many mysteries about morels, but to discredit much of what researchers have discovered is just plain silly.
