My inlaws have a farm at the south end of Bloomington in Springville. I will be headed there for opening day 11/16. What should I expect this year as far as the rut and normal weather conditions? In other words, has it been unseasonably warm, cold, etc. And how has this this affected deer movement. How is opening day shaping up?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Deer have been moving at 7:10 AM, they will move east to west, so sit on any inside corner that faces east...you know, to keep with the prevailing wind on your side...

I would say get set by 630, and at 21 yards around 715 a deer will come by...all you will have to do is shoot...

or...you could scout ahead of time...

doesnt matter to me much either way...

welcome by the way...

You could do worse than finding a travel corridore and just waiting for the fireworks to commence. I assure you, you won't be alone down there!

Please be safe and enjoy your hunt. Welcome.

Well, welcome to IN. first off, we wont know what the weather will be like till the morning of the hunt, after all, this is "Indiana"...lol
I feel the rut will still be going on but you may be on the downhill side of it. Seems like that area gets a good amount of gun hunters. But, it should be decent specially if the property lays nicely? Good luck man, posts some pics if ya get one.
