No test just looking for a lease for next year if I can get lucky and find one. Guess I should have introduced myself before posting.

It's all good, Hank...we're a little touchy about that lately, but it looks like you understand.

welcome hank...yeah, there is a batch of guys on here that are a little too women-like and nag at you if you just come on here to gain land or good hunting spots or ask if anyone needs help hunting their land...they expect u to bow down to how many posts they have on here first, then ask a lot of silly questions so they can reply and feel really smart about hunting, then they will finally warm up a little and give you some room to say normal things like what you asked. some of these guys need to give the new guys a break.....anyways, just my $0.02...but i do like the guys on here overall and there is great info...i'm not sure of any leases right now...

If you go knocking on doors, you'd be surprised how easy it can be to get permission without using the "L" word. Get a topo map to try to pinpoint some prospects or just go driving around...put on some nice clothes, firm up the handshakeand smile alot.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I just wish I had time to take a day or two and do this, between taking care of the small farm we have( mowing hay, taking care of the animals, fencing, bushhogging), turkey season, working a full time job, camping, fishing which is family time and all the other things that come up I just usually do not have much free time. Thats not to count just getting ready for the season here. But I know many of you guys run into the same problems. I thought about trying to just swap a few hunts with some people, but I am just leary about sharing a place to hunt with someone that I do not know. Thanks again for the tips.

So if you feel that way, why should we feel any different? Just curious because there are some people on this thread that enjoyed jumping down others throats when we gave an honest answer, now it comes out you feel the same way as a lot of us here.

I have gone on a hunt, just by talking to the good people on this site. ( thanks 911). Stick around, make some posts, let some people get a feel for who you are, you never know.

all the guy asked if anyone knew anyone that would want to lease land! he wasn't asking to hunt any of our propertys without paying! whats the harm in that? a lot of you guys' "honest answers" are really just cocky snob offs to new guys that don't know anyone on here and have innocent questions!

OK Mr. Buckman heres the deal. Its unapropriate to walk into a new crowd and ask " hey if anyone knows where to get some "Insert Here' let me know" without introducing yourself and at least making an attempt to get to know people before asking something of them.

Sorry if this does not make sense to you.......

Mr. Hank, glad you have taken the time to join the site. Glad to see you have already gotten the gist of what some people are trying to point out. Some peopls just dont seem to grasp it!! Hope you learn from the posts on this site and make many friends in the meantime...

Oh one more thing Mr Buckman. That "Batch of Guys" you speak about, just happens to be the batch of guys that have made this site what it is, so I suggest you try and at least respect the majority opinion or get out!!!!!!!!

Not trying to start anything here, but whats the difference in me coming on this sight and trying to find a lease from people that I don't know and going around knocking on doors of people I don't know? I have never asked to get in on anyones hunting spot. I am a member of many hunting sites but mostly only post on one and its not this one. I think this post on finding a lease just came at the wrong time and some of the people on here took it the wrong way, and for that I apologize. But I did not know that I had to tippy toe around here trying to be everybodys bud before I ask about a lease. No hard feelings.

You're exactly right...your post just came at a bad time. There was an influx of newbies whose first posts were, "Where can I find great hunting land in IN without working for it?" (seriously). Nothing wrong with your post, Hank, and please don't hold it against us.
