the saddle scope mount for the 870 only takes seconds to install it's what i used for years before i got my 1187 with the canilever barrel. you should be able to find a used 870 combo pretty cheap.

Agreed but its something to consider....

I pretty much feel how trent does.....[I'll admit it] I dont like using a 12ga for deer...thats why I use my muzzleloader....

Dick's had the mossberg 500 combo with cantiliever barrel and scope in either 12 or 20 guage for $249 last weekend. They are a pretty good gun but to tell you the truth I think all the major label pump guns are abouth the same. The only problem I ever had with the 500/590 series was in polonged sand storm condions where the action lock lever had to be removed for cleaning.
