Webster for muskies...

I'm leaving now.... going to Webster for muskies...!!!

Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some pictures to post. It'll be my first time out for them.... but i have a buddy who goes alot. They generally catch something.

Well.... I caught my first muskie ever this weekend at Lake Webster. It went 41". I caught it Saturday right at dark on a top water bait in the backwaters in about 3-4 foot of water. To start the day off... we fought crazy weather conditions.... raining, windy, and some wintry mix. Fishing was very slow. We didn't see any fish, but a buddy had a good hit and lost a $30 crank bait. Finally the wind laid down, and then this fish smoked the bait about 10 feet from the boat. I can't wait to go back.

Another buddy that went for the first time caught a 42" fish on Sunday AM. My buddy who has been many times got skunked.

Awesome...did the adrenaline get going? Congrats and some very cool looking pics. We caught 1 and lost 3 on suckers Saturday on Tippy. Wish we would have boated the first one...mid to upper 40" fish that stripped off about 30 feet of line.

Adrenaline was definitely cranking.... more so than I expected. We are already discussing another trip yet this year.

I thought about heading to Webster for a weekend of Muskie fishing. Any report on fish activity...??? I can't decide whether to fish or buck hunt... LOL

well i can say the fish have been pretty good on suckers and some on baits. turnover is pretty much done. so get out there and get'm boys....bill

Suckers have taken a back seat in my boat...I didn't even fish them this past weekend. Randy Bush (the guy that guides for me) and I boated 18 muskies casting crankbaits. Biggest fish was 46".
