A couple buddies and I are planning on starting a outdoor video series and were wondering if any of you guys have any suggestions on how we could make it different than what's on TV?

Just being a local midwest show makes it different. A lot of shows focus on hunting out west which is ok to watch every now and again but doesn't really apply to us. Also don't make the whole thing about deer hunting. To me nothing's more boring than watching other people deer hunt .

better be real! i see a lot of b and s on most of these shows. perfect example of what not to do is "no limits hunting". i think that refers to no fair chase limits. lol check out the show where the lady gets out of a truck with a group of people, they all walks 30 yrds, and she shoots a goat/sheep thats standing there looking at them all from 40yrds. then says it was such a rush completing her grand slam. how stupid do they think viewers are? just be real.

I agree with keeping it simple and leave the ego's at home!

I'm tired of seeing the professionals that bounce from local to local to sit in a stand someone else put up and scouted and to shoot the deer the outfitter says to. We hear them talk like they did all this leg work and they didn't and then they shoot a deer and pose with a deer that they then either lie about the score or try to justify why they shot it. Because nobody shoots a deer because it's exciting any more I guess!

I really like seeing the kids, first timers and even the old timers out enjoying the simple pleasures of the outdoors. If may not be exciting, but that is the true essence of hunting/fishing.....it isn't always about "the big one".
