Strut&rut1's Doe

My brother shot a doe tonight. While I was field dressing it I seen a large mass of some sort on it wind pipe. The mass was the size of a baseball and had little white specks all over it. The specks looked like little zits. The whole chest cavity looked funny. He said the deer acted just fine. It was a perfect shot 40 yards quartered away He got both lungs and top of the heart. She went maybe 30 yards and expired. I'm just not sure about the mass. What would you guys do at this point. Is it safe

I read about this in the hunting regulations. It said not to process the deer without the carcass being examined by a BOAH veterinarian the number they give to call is 1-877-747-3038 hours to call is 8am 4pm the disease is Deer Tuberculosis. the have an email address its animalhealth@boah.IN.gov and a web page IN.gov/boah. well good luck.
