Hit a buck tonight and had great blood for 2-300 yards then lost it. I can't imagine he lived with all the blood he lost but he went into a very thick crp cut. Hoping someone has or knows someone in the area with a dog.

Thanks in advance.

sorry cant help. hope you find him brother.

maybe something made him run more and stop bleeding? did you find where he layed down at all?

thats just what you get with a bow. numbers show 30% or more can be lost. i have killed my share, in late season, with arrow fodder still in them.

couple years ago i hit a decent buck. super blood at the start of track. i backed out and came back before dark. well he only had 50yrds of woods till he hit the field. that field was 1000yrds long. you guessed it, he didnt stop before he hit the field. my hart sunk because i knew the trail was going to dry up, and it did about 400yrds into it. found him after season across the road. i noticed a spot where the combine head rose up and back down in neighbor's corm field. i walked out to see if my suspicions were rite. they were, he laid there coyote food. makes you feel cruddy but its part of it. that deer laid to rest after a 1.5mile run! the arrow went in about 12" and was busted off on trail still in the woods. i have since switched to heavier arrows to try and keep this to a minimum in the future.

Found multiple spots where he looked to be coughing up blood. Had bright red blood and at a few points had bubbles in it. Wasn't frothy just bubbles. Looked to be from it coming from his mouth. Blood was very heavy and easy to track. Few spots looked like he stopped for a second but never found a bed. I also never found my arrow, not sure if it passed through or not. He was standing in a very thick thorn thicket when I shot so not the easiest place to find a arrow if it did pass through. My arrows are 482 grain with with 200 of that up front.

I've lost deer before and it's never easy, but I just don't think this deer is far from last blood. Gonna head out shortly to start searching again.
