  1. For this contest we will be using the NWTF record book scoring system:

    http://www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/how_to_score.html

You may submit your best scoring bird (Eastern/Osceola/Rio/Merriam) taken with legal hunting equipment(shotgun, bow, mzldr) to add to your teams total. If your bird is taken with a bow you get to add an additional 5 pts to your teams total.

Here are the Teams signed up and ready.

  2. NWTF SCORING

Step 1: Weigh your bird in pounds and ounces and convert ounces to decimal form.

Step 2: Measure each spur. Spurs must be measured along the outside center, from the point at which the spur protrudes from the scaled leg skin to the tip of the spur. Add both spur measurements and multiply the combined length of the spurs by 10. This is the number of points you receive for the turkey’s spurs.

Step 3: Measure the beard length (a beard must be measured from the center point of the protrusion of the skin to the tip) and convert it to decimal form.

Next, multiply the beard length figure by 2; this is the number of points you receive for the beard length. If you have an atypical bird (multiple beards), measure each beard, convert them to a decimal number, then add those figures together and multiply by two. This is the number of points you receive for your turkey’s beards.

Step 4: Add together the weight, the points for spurs and points for beard(s): This is the score you receive for your turkey.

    1/8 Measurements
    1/8 = .1250
    2/8 = .2500

  3. Cool D & B,,,,have fun keepin scores!!
    What does 16 oz = .?

  4. hmmmmm....a pound.

  5. :yeahthat:

  6. Are they a member of IS?

  7. Yes,, we'll take fuzzy muzzy if its allowed..

  8. That's cool, we will score your team the same as "Team 13". Best bird + worst bird + avg of other 2, or if you just get 3 birds they all count.

  9. I hate to be a pain, but if a 3 man team doesnt get 3 birds, their score will suffer, but if a 4 man team doesn't get their limit, they are still putting 3 birds on the board...shouldnt you still use, best bird, worst bird, and then an average of 0 and the 3rd bird? There has to be some penalty for that team not limiting...

  10. I thought of that too. Since it is for bragging rights that may be a little too harsh though. How about a 5 pt. deduction of there total?

  11. I don't know enough about how the scoring system will break down, and how turkeys score to really say one way or the other. If you think 5 points will bring them on par with the 3 man teams, fair enough.

  12. Need a Team

    Interested in joining a team.

    Thanks

  13. maybe we could pull someone off of the 2 teams of 4. Pidgeon could we have fuzzy muzzy? Maybe arrowmaster off of team 13?

  14. If you need someone extra I will join but I don't know for sure if ill be able to get out for turkey season.
