treehugger, I replied to your questions about the bear hunting but not sure if you got it so here goes. Ive taken 4 black bears out of Ontario with bow over bait. As with whitetails, its all about shot selection and placement. Instead of the perfect broadside as with a whiteteail the slightly quartering away shot is the best. you have to miss that big shoulder blade and get behind it or wait till the front leg on the side you are shooting is forward. If you double lung him he'll be down in 75 yds or less because he can't go far with his lungs down because of his weight, not like a whitetail. hope this helps.
