  1. [​IMG]Anyone ever find these in Indiana? We find them up North early in the morel season. You just pick off the caps. Lots of folks call them caps. The stalks are tough and cottony inside and don't have the best taste :cheeky-sm. They are not the same thing as what most Hoosiers call "Dog Peckers"
  2. they look very similar to the "pecker heads" here in Indiana and, like you, we find them early in the season. never heard of caps though.
