I finally got my UDZ buck back today from the taxidermist. It looks great on the wall. I didn't realize the difference in coat color between deer until i got him up on the wall. This thing is DARK. My other two came from Daviess Co. and they almost look red compared to this guy. Kinda puts my other two on the wall to shame. I'm planning on getting him scored for pope and young club, so if anyone knows of a good scorer in west/central IN, let me know.

thanks! i green scored him last year and came up with a final score of 137...the pics for some reason don't show how big he is for some reason(could be the angle). here's the measurements i took a week after the kill:
inside spread: 19.25"
G1's both 3.75
G2's both 9.0
G3's 7.5 and 7.75
H1's 5.25
H2's 4.5
H3's 4
H4's 3
right MB = 23.5
left = 22
now...to get someone official to measure him!

Your buck looks plenty big enough. It is truly an awesome deer. You should be proud. On my guess of the score, I gave it 20" main beams. Hard to tell in a picture. You should make Pope for sure if the green score is close. Hardly any deductions.

I got him officially scored this morning for the Pope and Young Club...Grossed 137 3/8", Netted 135 0/8. Paper work is being sent in and hopefully in about a month i'll have a certificate to frame and hang under the mount. It's a pretty awesome experience to have a deer scored for the first time. I learned a lot about scoring. Hopefully i'll have another to score this year, only bigger.
