Brother has a small ranch out there and love to go visit. But, I never go for less than a week due to the elevation issues. I start hydrating at least two days in advance, and that seems to lessen the altitude induced migraines I always get.

that all said, the hunting out there is always fun and always so different from here. Glass as much or more than you walk. And surprisingly even a sage fed mule deer or antelope is excellent if you get them before the rut and take care of the meat properly

can’t say that about the elk, as they are always good, but my brother lives in a travel corridor so he shoots the elk when they appear, which is usually January with private land cow tags.
Shoot one though and you realize it’s more like dressing an angus than a deer, lots and lots of animal there.
