Whats the point in it? What happened to crows being a huge problem? There are so many of them why can't we just shoot them whenever whats the point in a stupid hunting season for them?
i looked into that. They said that midwestern states population of quail and such depends on the crow population. The more crows their are the more eggs they eat. The DNR web sight says you can use leathel force on crows out of season if they are " harming crops wild life leaving beind large amounts of droppings or are about to cause harm or are being annoying" so in other words you can shoot them when ever you want if their "about to" cause damage lolfor me personally....sure it is fun, but I hunt them for the same reasons I would hunt coyotes...conservation. Ducks, pheasant and quail will not defend their nests so once a crow or 2 challenge momma she leaves and they eat her eggs and or chicks. Why they have a closed season is beyond me.
You can't hunt crows to near extinction they breed like rabbits. (they s**t like them to) lolSo if a crow was hunted to near extinction? how and would it hurt our ecosystem? What are they good for? They are a great nest killer. So the question remains, why not Kill them all year round? why put a season on them? CONTROL!
You must not live in northwest Indiana. you step outside and shoot something on your property in northwest IN and you'll have yourself a trip to the police station.Shoot them on your property. Don't tell anyone. You can claim them as nusance if it's your property

BigHonkers could probably tell you more about them than myself but they are called metro barrels - basically they let you get deep into cover/brush and they silence the shotgun a bit. You can go to metrogun.com to learn more - pretty sweet really!holy crap! whats up with that shotgun?! lol

Yes. If it is legal to hunt on private land it is legal on public land unless the individual property says no. Like the bonus antlerless tags for example. The public land I hunt has signs up saying they cannot be used. Can you crow hunt on DNR land? I've wore my lease out and Atterbury is down the road.
