Deer swimming in Chesapeake Bay

  1. Wow, that was neat. I fish some on a 26 acre lake that is private, and I've seen a couple deer swim across it. We tried to catch up to a doe one time, with 2 trolling motors. There was no way we were going to catch her, but we tried. When we got a little close, it was like she kicked it into overdrive. They are good swimmers.

  2. Thats pretty wild.

I've watched deer swim off the island at Rochester several times and I was in Logansport and looked over and there was a buck swimming under the bridge in the river by the water treatment plant.
  3. But what if the deer wanted to go to the "other side" of the bay?

We were crappie fishing one night and had a buck nealy swim into our boat...
  4. I've seen deer swim in my lake quite a few times. It's pretty cool. Actually had a buck chase a doe into the water in early rut. They made a loop and out they went, never breaking stride. Ole boy was HORNy. LOL
