LAST NIGHT WAS LOOKING ON THE NET ABOUT **** HUNTIN. I CAME ACROSS A SITE WERE THEY LET THE DOGS KILL THE *****.IT SHOWED THE DOGS TEARING THEM UP. I FELT THAT THIS WAS UNSPORTSMAN LIKE. THE **** IS GOING TO DIE ANYWAY, SO WHY NOT JUST SHOOT IT INSTEAD OF IT FIGHTING TO DEATH. WHAT DO YA'LL THINK. :tsk:

I run **** hounds from time to time with friends and we've always let the dog get a good mouthful of fur before pulling them off. The more riled up you get the dogs the better they will hunt, a good dog really wants to see that **** on the ground!

Something you may have missed is that the **** is actually shot out of the tree with a rifle or pistol, he's dying or dead when he hits the ground. That is my experience with it anyways, I'm sure there are folks out there doing it differently. Don't let anybody tell you that hounds always ruin **** pelts either, I get tired of the hype about fur prices being docked for this or that... it's hard to dock what ain't there!

Hell, may as well break out the pictures of Molly at work to give you an idea what's going on out there in case you've never been **** hunting with a good dog.

Here's Molly shortly after we found her, she's really screaming!

She's working the tree pretty good, she hasn't been there 10 minutes and already has quite a catch circle going!

This one was shot in the eye... he was dead on arrival. Molly couldn't tell the difference... she was estatic to get a hold of that **** she'd been screaming at for so long!

Here's the finished product, notice the blood on the belly where Molly worked it over a little bit. Of course some fur handlers would freak out at that sight but I assure you... I sold over 40 ***** this year from the trapline and coonhounds and was never docked for chew marks.

Hope this helps explain the situation a little bit for you, it's not a blood sport. There is an art to training a good dog and taking home good fur, it's a fun art to learn! :coolgleam

Glad to help. There are a lot of misunderstandings out there about hunting/fishing and trapping. Some folks never have the chance to go out and see these things in action so they only know what they hear or read... I wish I had the opportunity to take 20 new people every day when I went out trapping, hunting, hounding, calling, fishing or whatever else. Keep an open mind and go try something new.
