  1. Well, it looks like rain for opening week/weekend so far. Gets a little harder to get 'em when it's raining. How does everyone hunt turkey's in the rain? Do you change your tactics? I usually just try to go to a spot I know they like to frequent...especially a thicket and sit tight. They usually stay quiet when they come in some I'm constantly on the look out. Let's hear what you guys do.

  2. My experience with birds and the rain is that they like to go to open fields. I just plan on setting up on one of the food plots where I hunt at and wait for Mr. Longbeard to show up. Sitting tight and staying in one place and calling every once in a while has seem to work out the best for me and my hunting buddies. It always seems like if you have been sitting in one place for awhile and get up and move, as soon as you do you will spook a bird.

    Good luck.

  3. :yeahthat: I agree with all of what Rauch wrote.

  4. Do they tend to head to low open fields, or hilltops?

  5. Rain = not good with box calls, eh?
