i dont think so cc. ice fishing is my passion and i only hunt mushrooms. the last thing you want is me out there in a woods with a gun in my hands:biggrin: i see that another site i belong to is already talking about their annual braggin' rights ice fishing tournament....ice shanty.com versus indianainfo.net...grab a pole and pick a side and we will see you on the ice!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only real ice fishing I've done is years ago in Wisconsin....put out tip ups....go back to the warm cabin...pop a beer....check every once in a while...when the flag goes up....snowmobile back out....take off the walleye....bait up again....run back in...pop another beer.:bouncy:

Now that's ice fishing.

Must be tough to troll.;)

At least in the winter you don't have to put up with all the crazies who come out skiing, etc.

I nearly lost a dog ice fishing a few years back. She backed up, rear legs went into the hole (we cut 8" holes), made a mad dash to grab the collar and pull her up. Head for home to dry her out, warm her up. Cuts your fishing day a little short.

yep i am definetly ready. This hot weather is making me sick. Hell CC we have one of the best ice fishing lakes right outside our front door. George is full of big 14 inch crappie and u can catch 8 and 9 in. bluegill all day long if you know where to go...that would be any good structure away from the fifty shanties down by the access

I'm ready for ice fishing, but not at the expense of my bass fishing. When it does come, and the boat is winterized. I will be the first one watching for safe ice.

i like to ice fish, too, but don't generally get many chances down here in decatur county. Can someone tell me some good spots to go ice fishing in indiana for yellow perch or walleye this winter?

Then those puppies disappear during the summer....caught one 10 inch gill this year trolling for bass with a Shad Rap...caught some Perch on a Rebel crawdad.

Maybe, just maybe, I might try to walk out on the ice and auger a hole. There's a weed bed in front of our place in about 6' of water maybe 1/4 mile from shore...would this be a good place to ice fish?
