The tickets are now available for the 2005 IBA Banquet. The banquet will be at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Columbus, Indiana on February 26th. It has been held there before and we always have a good turn out. Due to trying to keep the IBA's cost down, we haven't blocked as many rooms as last year (we have to pay for the ones that don't get booked). So make your reservations early. Contact me for the hotel's info if you would like.
Doors open at 8 a.m. with the annual membership meeting beginning at about 8:10. The first seminar will begin at 10 a.m. and run throughout the day, with a lunch break between 11 and noon. Schedule subject to change, of course (smile).
Our main dinner speaker this year is Tom Nelson, host of Bowhunter Magazine's "The American Archer" tv show. Tom will also do a day seminar on modern archery equipment and how to implement it into your hunting.
Other day seminar speakers will be...
Jim Mitchell, Indiana Deer Biologist discussing the deer herd in our state.
Steve Backs, Indiana Turkey Biologist discussing the upcoming 2005 fall turkey season.
Milton Jones from Colorado discussing do it yourself elk hunting on public land.
John Deem, Steuben County CO discussing the importance of introducing kids to hunting and how it effects their lives (did I get that right John?).
More seminars may be scheduled soon and I'll keep ya updated.
Paul Vice will once again hold the three tier raffle that has become a huge hit at our banquets the past few years (thanks, Paul). Hunts will be auctioned and we are once again looking for door prize donations. Anyone wishing to donate something can contact me for information.
Also, any vendors wishing to set up, please contact me to reserve booth space. The space will be free, although we would much appreciate a donation for our banquet.
Individuals attending JUST for the day (not staying for the dinner and auctions) may attend for $5 per person. Tickets for the day seminars AND dinner are once again $27.50 for adults and $12.50 for children 12 and under. Dinner will be buffet style, as we've had in the past. Great food!
If you would like to buy tickets, or would like some to sell for us, please contact me at your convenience. Also, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or shoot me an e-mail. Thanks!!!
