Trudged around for about an hour and a half in 8" of snow this a.m. Tough on everyone, especially the dogs...got one bird up in some heavy cover. Hard to hunt in deep snow. Got the bird, but we're all worn out.
Dogs had a hard time getting sent as the birds were burried in the snow.
Was a nice day out, the dog sure did his job, I just didn't do mine (as normal).
Birds were slow, only flushed one, of course I missed. Rabbits were plentiful, flushed several, of course, I missed them too. Several drifts were thigh high, few hours of that I was ready for a big meal and a nap, dog was too.
