Just wondering, I know Kingsbury is reserved for spring turkey. Anybody know about fall turkey? Can I just show up and hunt? What about hours too? All day, or just until noon?

Lol what a joke. After three years I finally located a flock of fall turkey at Kingsbury Thursday so went to hunt them this morning. Think again. Parking lot had no less than five deer muzzleloader hunters for a VERY confined public parcel! I promptly departed. 16 days peak rut rifle followed by 15 days muzzleloader. Plus youth gun season and three months of crossguns. Insane amount of gun days trashing buck age class. Pretty bad when the pressure is too high for the only guy turkey hunting the entire property. What buck would possibly move in daylight after 30+ days of gun pressure?
Only took me two years but finally located a flock of turkey at Kingsbury to hunt in December! Just printed out license and packing car now Lol.
Good luck out there. hope to see some pics.
I expect the five pumpkins scattered my flock this weekend. But after today thank god they are OUT of there for the season! Going on a 4 day business trip then will get a whole week turkey hunting by myself. Hopefully birds will settle down and get in a pattern.

Well after trying several times, I found it just wasn't worth it. Just way too much pressure in general. However, found a great alternative. Tried my luck first time late season bow hunting for deer on various Illinois public, and after hunting multiple spots, I found one with my tiny boat that was loaded with mature bucks. Must have a boat to access, but well worth it. I wasn't sure about breaking thin ice with my portable boat, but it seemed fine. This must be some refuge the big ones go to after the three gun seasons. I ended up taking a 130" with my bow like on 12/15. So no luck with turkey, but at least I found something to do late season.
