Need any info

  1. I recently found 3 reels in a friends old barn. They cleaned up nice. They are all Shimano Bantam 100's. One has an SG on it also. They have black handles, not rosewood. Shimano says they started making the Bantam in 1978 but couldn't pin-point these reels. Anybody know anything about these? Thanks Jason
     
  2. i have a shimano bantam purchased in very early 80's or sooner. it had the option of using a "V" spool that came with it. it was the first baitcaster i ever owned and i thought i would never get the hang of it. then it became my favorite reel of all time. i eventually wore it out and couldn't get any replacement parts for it. i still have it but it's not useable any longer as is. i'll try to find it in my garage and see what the model is. i paid $80+ for it from Bass Pro Shops. high price for 20+ years ago.
