Dean I killed the buck in Steuben during muzzleloader season. He was never "offically" aged. He weighed 200 field dressed without an ounce of fat. You could see his spine and ribs, seemed to be rutted down pretty good. He was scored by Bogocki at 176 7/8 gross, 168 2/8 net non typical. His 8 point frame grossed 156.
I'll be there this spring around April 17-18. Two years ago I accidentally snagged a HUGE sow. I let her go, but I'll bet it was close to 12#. Imagine that Dean Weimer...letting a "trophy" go. Sorry, I'm still having fun with the "antler worshipping" comment on a different thread. Are you mainly a Walleye guy bubba?? I've been doing it since I was 12; I started near Ely, Minnesota that summer and have been hooked (pun unintended) ever since. My uncle owns a cabin near Ely, and myself, family, friends, etc. usually try to make at least a one week vacation every year. It's great up there.:fish:
my folks are in cass lake , mn. like it there but still don't give me the rush like hooking up in the fast water if you have room to fight them,it is usually neopreme down both sides of the river .:bonk: have to get in with a group:grouphug: to land more fish and you will have much more fun:bouncy:9 when cant hunt i fish gills, walleyes, pearch, bass ,does not matter to me as long as i am out there
Photo of a buck I took on my property back on November 17, 2001. The Buck has 9-points and weighed 200 pounds field dressed. Taken with a 12 gauge sabot slug.
