  1. Anyone been doing any scouting? I'll be doing some scouting in Brookville this weekend while I'm picking up morels so I'll let you know how it goes.
  2. been doing some scouting for gobblers and shed hunting combined. haven't found any sheds or morels but did find a decent 8 pt skeletal remains of probably 1 yr. a half old buck. nice find for me. but the turkey sign has been auwsome. can't wait. whats nice about this time of yr. is you can combine you scouting with shrooming and shed hunting.

  3. Did some scouting for Turkey yesterday evening. Found an awesome area covered with ground scratch and roost sign. Walked the area for about 10 minutes and on my way out a large bird busted out from under a bush and trotted off...on my way through the bird didn't budge...on my way out it busted out...very unnerving when you aren't expecting it. It won't be long now!!!
  4. Haven't seem many turkeys , there really is not that many in my area. Have seen deer lots of deer. I have been reworking my stands and clipping limbs of the way to get ready for bow season.

I have been out since early March and have seen quite a bit of activity, have heard gobblers and had one walk up on me last week, man they are noisy. I will be mushroom hunting too when I am scout now;)

  6. Went out last Sunday and heard a bunch. I hunt near a lake and it's got a ridge on either side. There's some pine trees across the lake where some hens were roosted and they were going nuts. Finally saw a tom come down the top of a draw, strutting and gobbling like crazy. Then saw him breed one of the hens, Turkey porn! After about 15 minutes a Coyote came in, about 30 yards below the turkeys, but he didn't pay any attention to them. Wish I would have had my rifle.
