Found out how to tell a male from a female squirrel...shake the tree, and if you hear nuts rattle, it's a male.

    Sorry, just couldn't resist:)
  2. Just got back from hunting those bushy tails and boy are my arms tired. Shaking all those trees sure is hard work.

  3. Actually from late fall on, if you see a squirrel chasing another the chasing squirrel is a male. Really works and is a lot less work:biggrin:
  4. Gosh, I wasn't aware Indiana was a bucks only state!!!!

  5. Bucks only squirrel hunting is ok, I just don't want to have to start measuring the spread between the ears before knowing if it's a shooter squirrel.
  6. If I have a choice I'd rather leave the ones that will produce more squirrels. There will always be a couple of happy male squirrels left over:)
  7. I saw one that was wearing a pair of flying goggles and chasing a dim witted moose, but it had a girly voice.
  8. I think they were headed for Whatsamatta U.:)
  9. Got a taste for squirl, just may have to go after one or two tomorrow.
