Squirrel hunting

Discussion in 'Indiana Small Game Hunting' started by Squirrel_Hunter1313, Aug 1, 2015.

  1. I was wondering if anyone could give a fellow squirrel hunter from Ohio some advise.

I live within 10 minutes of the Indiana border was wondering if there are any nice public hunting grounds near Richmond Indiana. I have a few spots here in Ohio but they are close to 40min drive for me and looking for something maybe closer

  2. Won't be any better here than in Ohio.

  3. Nock on lots of doors. Not near as hard as getting deer hunting permission

Just took my first squirrel with an air gun over the weekend. What a blast.

Just got a couple of black squirrels again this past weekend with my trusty Benjamin.

  6. Steve, At age 14, I took my very first Squirrel & Rabbit with my Sheridan "Blue Streak" .20 cal. pellet rifle. It is a blast to take small game with any air rifle.:)

  7. Brookville reservoir just south of richmond

  8. Got a new scope on the .22, try some CCI quiets (need to zero).
Might just work over some reds, leave the fox and greys alone.
Can take reds anytime, but still wait until "regular" squirrel season.
Depends if my day off corresponds to a cool morning.

  9. Need a scope/dot sight on the Ruger target pistol. Old eyes suck LOL
