At first I thought this was funny...then I realized the awful truth of
Be sure to read all the way to the end!

    Tax his land,
    Tax his bed,
    Tax the table
    At which he's fed.

    Tax his tractor,
    Tax his mule,
    Teach him taxes
    Are the rule.

    Tax his cow,
    Tax his goat,
    Tax his pants,
    Tax his coat.

    Tax his ties,
    Tax his shirt,
    Tax his work,
    Tax his dirt.

    Tax his tobacco,
    Tax his drink,
    Tax him if he
    Tries to think.

    Tax his cigars,
    Tax his beers,
    If he cries, then
    Tax his tears.

    Tax his car,
    Tax his gas,
    Find other ways
    to tax his back end

    Tax all he has
    Then let him know
    That you won't be done
    Till he has no dough.
    When he screams and hollers,
    Then tax him some more,
    Tax him till
    He's good and sore.
    Then tax his coffin ,
    Tax his grave,
    Tax the sod in
    Which he's laid.

    Put these words
    upon his tomb,
" Taxes drove me to my doom..."

    When he's gone,

    Its time to apply

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,
and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in
world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What the hell happened? Can you spell "politicians!"

And I still have to "press 1"
    for English.

  2. i agree whole heartedly bubba

our government ceased being effective about 40 years ago

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security"

that excerpt is from The Declaration of Independence...

time to think about an overhaul

  3. Of all of the responsibilities outlined in the US Constitution, I don't remember "redestribution of wealth" being included. Hold on to your azz...If the country has an anti-republican attitude next november, that will be taxed next.
  4. Weren't the people who founded this country fleeing from over-taxation? This is a true story. My buddy and I were always in a boat parade on the Fourth of July..that is, until the local government stepped in to tell us that we couldn't have a boat parade without buying a permit. No better example of irony has ever existed if you ask me. (By the way, the people on the lake assembled and celebrated our country's independence without acquiring the proper permit)
  5. Makes you want to parade by and pour some tea into the lake, doesn't it?
  6. As long as "we" keep electing "R"s & "D"s, we will continue to be both taxed and progressively lose freedoms.

Someone once tried to figure out how much "real wealth" was lost to taxation and came up with somthing like 7/8 of every dollar. I.E. everything you buy has had it's price increased by every tax laid upon every employee, resource and service required to produce and sell a product all the way up the chain - and into an eternally regressive circle. (The regression only stops with hand-made/grown folk-art/agricultural products produced off of land that is exempt from property tax and produced by a hippie tax-dodger...)

Think about it. You are not just being taxed on your wages and property, but you are also paying every single cent of the taxed laid on every Producing Entity (individual, corporation, whatever) in the country.

To a Business (no matter how large or small) a Tax is just another Expense to be passed along to the Consumer - You and Me.

Add to that the fact that those taxes that get passed on to Us get syphoned back to Business in the form of Corporate Welfare, and you can see how screwed up the whole thing is.

Tax "the Rich" &/or businesses and WE pay THEM for it - they don't get hurt at all... except in the form of overt regulation and bureaucracy that makes them leave the country and puts us out of work.

The Problem IS Government. The solution is LESS government. But with somthing like 58% of the US population recieving $$$ in one form or another from the Tax Dollars extorted at gunpoint from guys like us, it's not likely to change. At least not untill the Economy Implodes.
  7. On the nose Ironsights! It's not an "R" or "D" that is the problem...... they both are. I love this country, can they tax me for that????????? I believe that it is now possible to tax a man into poverty.....
  8. NO taxation without representation!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't we break away from England because of taxation?
  9. Republicans are not innocent bystanders in the Tax and Spend Category

Here we go again blaming the demo's for taxes. I seem to remember that it was Bush that took us to war and has spent all the money on this unwise war in Iraq. Who do you think is going to pay for this war? Not Bush himself. Not the Congress. But you and me. Our tax dollars will pay for this Billions of Dollars War in Iraq. It will take years to pay off this war and all that's associated with all the other spending the REPUBLICAN Congress spend from 2000 to 2006. The deficit is so high now that our children's children will be paying down that debt for the rest of their lives.

I do agree that taxes need to be lowered all around the board. But hell everyone hates to pay taxes. But everyone hates to drive over potholes too. Someone has to fix the roads and keep them up.

I have worked for local government and both parties. I have seen the wasteful spending and believe me it was the Republican's that spend wildly and it was the Democrats that spend wisely.

For example the Republican Director always had to fly FIRST Class. This is much more expensive. And the Republican Director always had to get out of Town to some Seminar. The Democratic Director didn't take expensive trips and spend the budget on necessary equipment to get the job down.

That was just my personal experience. I spent 3 years working for the Republicans and 4 years working for the Democrats. I'll work for either party but I thought that in my experience the Democratic Director was the more frugal Director. We got more work accomplished under the Democrats that under the Republicans. In fact the Republicans hired "GHOST WORKERS" under the CETA program. CETA was a Federal Program that paid local governments to hire the underprivileged to help them gain valuable job experience. We hired one black lady to work in the office. She did a good job and learned some valuable skills. I had no problem with that hiring. But the Republican Director also hired a "Republican Operative" that owned his own construction company. He was being paid with Federal Money to work under the Federal CETA Program. He was never in the office except right at starting time, a 1/2 hr lunch period and sometimes he would show up at quitting time. No one knew where he spent his day. He was hired as an Inspector but had never filed an inspection report.

This is the the type of crap that the local Republicans pulled in our office.

The Director once flew down to New Orleans to go to a seminar. Instead of attending the meetings he went for a ride on the trolley, got a ride on the river boat and ate out at expensive restaurants every day. And he arrived two days late to the Seminar. I attended the meetings every day until he arrived and then I got dragged along with my boss on the side trips. I flew down commercial in Coach. He borrowed a friends airplane and flew it down charging the trips expense to the Government.

This other Republican Director at the State Office Level did basically the very same thing. Only he worked his trips out so that he could go Trout Fishing up by Lake Michigan. He would setup a meeting with someone to justify the trip and then skip the meeting early and head out on a fishing trip. He charged this trip to the taxpayers.

So from my inside government information and taking to other government workers I have seen first hand who wastes the most tax payers money.

It was definitely the Republicans who spent the money on leisure trips and not on equipment.

Imagine a Fire Chief spending all the budget on expensive out of town trips and not buying that new fire truck?

  10. The Banana Tax!

James Town was founded by people leaving England so that they could practice religion their way. They also wanted to get away from the Kings' Authority.

Taxation without representation came about afterwords when the British wanted to tax the tea. That's when some patriots dressed up like Native Americans (Indians) and threw the boxes of tea off the ship into Boston Harbor.

We have had other tax rebellions. The Whiskey Rebellion was put down by our own US Government when farmers rebelled and said they didn't want to pay a Whiskey tax to the new US Government. But the Whiskey tax helped to fund the new government.

I wonder if Chimps tax other Chimps in the Forest. You know the Alpha Chimp charges the other chimps so many bananas or else he will beat them up. Sort of like the Pirates in the 1700's sailing the Caribbean Seas.

  11. Federal dollars being spent on war is what federal dollar are supposed to be spent on.

Federal dollars paying for groceries because some illegal or some unemployed drugged up baby factory wants food...thats not my problem. What we need in this country is a few more of those people to go hungry, and not survive a cold winter.

Redistribution of wealth is socialist, it is BS, and eventually, when I lose my will be on the list of reasons why...
  12. Roads and bombs...every other federal program should be haste
