trying to find a real hen decoy

Discussion in 'Indiana Turkey Hunting' started by rackstalker, Feb 18, 2007.

  1. I have been told there are real hen decoys being sold somewhere in Indiana since its legal to take one now in the fall. I would love to find one of these. Any info on this please let me know.

  2. your best bet would mabe to contact some taxidermist who might have some for sale or mabe direct you to some for sale.

  3. Hazel Creek is the primo stuffer decoy.

There was a guy on A.T. that made his own. Turned out pretty cool. He took a hen, skinned and tanned the hide. Then took a Featherflex deke and filled it full of expandable foam. Then glued the tanned hide on the outside. Then painted the head more real. Looked real good. Not Hazel Creek quality, but it did look good. Here is a link.

  4. Maybe THATS what I need!
It doesn't get any more lifelike without the life part.

  5. Decoys

I just purchased new decoys. I bought the Pretty Boy and Pretty Girl. They look good. The true test will come in a couple of months.
