Waterproofing Feather Fletchings

Discussion in 'Indiana Bowhunting' started by JL, Oct 11, 2006.

  1. With the promise of rain tonight, I took the night off and got some stands ready and waterproofed my feather fletchings. I have used Gateway feather powder in the past, and it was messy but relatively effective. This time around, I used Bohning Dri-Tite. Does anyone have any experience with this or other effective feather fletching waterproofers?

  2. three rivers sells a product that is amazing I want to say its fletch dry but im not sure what the name is... Its amazing stuff. I can literally dip my feathers in a puddle and pull them out and they are perfectly dry. Give it a shot youll like it... here is a link.http://www.3riversarchery.com/Product.asp?c=2&s=129&p=0&i=5086

  3. Just lightly spray them with the stuff you spray on boots to waterproof them. Works great.

  4. Sounds like a good cheap fix. Anyone ever try a Rain-X kind of product, like you put on your windshield to repel water? I use it on dry flies when fishing and they float like crazy!
