Weather effect?

Discussion in 'Indiana Whitetail Hunting' started by jaymac, Nov 29, 2006.

  1. With this weekend being my last chance to "tag" out--how will the sudden drop in weather affect the movement of deer? Also, are you guys using anything different this last weekend of firearm to increase your chances of a clean shot?
  2. if you can stand the cold sit all day. Deer have to feed and browse to maintian enough energy to stay warm thats your best bet.

  3. Ok, which is it, stand or sit? ;)

I agree, being out all day when the others are either going home for the morning or coming back in the afternoon, and then some folks will probably be pushing their woods, so that will cause the deer to flee to safety!
  4. i say hunt long as you can. try to be back in the woods by 12 noon. the deer are moving earlier. seen a lot of deer around 1:30 and 2:30 pm
  5. I didn't know if the cold weather causes them to get moving earlier or if they stay bedded down. Unfortunately, I've only got a 1/2 day of hunting time this weekend. Hopefully it'll be successful.

I didn't know if getting a can call or grunt would help. thoughts?
