it is almost back up to full pool. I've been hunting it a lot over duck season.
I imagine w/ all the precip and thawing its back to normal by now, if not very close.
They stocked the lake in early dec w/ 500K fingerling bluegill. They also drained the sals and rook units into a fish trap and transplanted quite a few mature bass, crappie, and bluegill.
I believe the plan is to stock the crappie and bass late this summer after the gill population has established itself.
Last i heard, it should be open for Catch and release fishing in '06 and fully open in '07.
they have made many inmprovements to the marsh and backside of the lake as well. mainly in the form of berms, mounds and ***** to keep the waves from eroding the shoreline and cattails. the ditches should all be around 8 - 10' deep now too.
